Medical Malpractice

Medical Malpractice

While many of us feel safe in the hands of medical professionals, these people are not infallible. In fact, medical mistakes are much more common than many believe. According to a HealthGrades study, more than 95,000 people die as a result of preventable medical negligence and errors every year in the United States. Thousands more suffer serious and often debilitating injuries due to medical malpractice every year. When patients are harmed at the hands of medical professionals, they have the legal right to seek compensation for their losses and suffering.

Medical malpractice is defined as a medical professional’s failure to meet the standards of care established for their field. Note that this involves the failure of a medical professional to act in a way that prevents harm to patients.
